Inside Sales Representative - B2B Sanitary Component & Equipment Supplier

Selling to Suppliers, End-Users, & OEMs in (and beyond) the Dairy, Food, & Beverage Industries

Compensation: Hourly, Based on Experience

Shift: Typically 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Hours will vary as dictated by production, vacation or other scheduling conflicts.

Workweek: Monday thru Friday. Mandatory overtime and weekend work is required.


  • Associates degree in a related field or equivalent work experience and technical knowledge of products (pumps, valves, fittings, equipment, etc) and services provided desired.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong phone presence.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and strong keyboard/data entry skills.
  • Experience with ERP reporting software (Sage 100 ERP).
  • Must possess good communication, problem solving and organizational skills.
  • Must be accurate, honest, detail orientated, punctual and organized.
  • Commitment to quality and safety excellence a must.
  • Ability to interact with customers in a positive and professional manner.
  • Strong customer service and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Must function effectively and productively individually and within a team focused work group.
  • Must be reliable with a strong work ethic, positive attitude and morale.
  • Must be highly motivated, engaged with company objectives and strong sense of personal responsibility and accountability.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.


  • Maintain quality customer relationships and communication either by phone, electronically or face to face.
  • Work directly with sales, engineering and customers throughout each sales process.
  • Respond to customer or sales staff requests promptly and accurately providing required information and pricing.
  • Act as a technical resource regarding products, pricing, availability and payment terms. Recommend products and services based on needs and interests.
  • Place orders and take orders via telephone, fax and e-mail.
  • Create quotes and invoices for customers and outside sales representatives in a timely manner.
  • Respond to customer quotations, needs, inquiries and complaints.
  • Administrative processing of customer orders to ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Provide internal and exterior sales support researching, gathering, understanding and retaining information regarding products and services provided.
  • Arrange and direct delivery and installation of products and equipment.
  • Prospecting and cold calling within an assigned territory.
  • Following up on orders to ensure excellent customer service. Resolve customer service issues.  
  • Determine feasibility of customer inquiries and investigate, troubleshoot and determine proper action required.
  • Obtain, evaluate and distribute technical information.
  • Track customer information (i.e. RFQ’s, contact information, forecasts and etc.).
  • Efficiently and effectively perform all work tasks ensuring the highest level of employee safety, product quality and team work.
