Waterjet Machine Operator
Position Description:
The Waterjet Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC waterjet cutting equipment to manufacture precision components that meet customer specifications and Koss Industrial quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety while ensuring efficient production with minimal material waste.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Set up, operate, adjust, and monitor CNC waterjet cutting machines according to production schedules and work orders.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders to ensure products meet required specifications and tolerances.
- Verify material type, dimensions, and machine settings prior to production.
- Produce quality parts while maximizing efficiency and minimizing material waste.
- Perform routine machine adjustments to maintain production accuracy and equipment performance.
- Conduct basic preventative maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, and routine inspections of equipment.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Perform secondary operations including deburring, drilling, countersinking, polishing, grinding, and other finishing processes using hand and power tools.
- Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility.
- Inspect finished products using precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Complete all production documentation, quality records, and daily job tracking accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain an organized and clean work area in accordance with 5S and company housekeeping standards.
- Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, and standard operating procedures.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, quality personnel, engineering, and fellow team members to achieve production goals.

Qualifications & Skills:
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
- Forklift experience or certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of CNC waterjet machine setup, operation, and troubleshooting preferred but not required.
- Proficient in using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges.
- Basic mathematical skills including whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and measurements.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to identify and resolve minor machine issues.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and productivity.
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Dependable with excellent attendance and a positive attitude.
- Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Frequently bend, twist, stoop, squat, kneel, crawl, climb, and reach overhead.
- Frequently push, pull, lift, carry, and move materials weighing up to 60 pounds.
- Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements while operating machinery and hand tools.
